We didn't finish the presentations and my apologies to Manisha and Rasha - we will ensure that everyone has copies of these even though we cannot see them, at this point.
Very well done to the rest of you who presented your findings - you put a lot of work into the presentations and I think you have well and truly pulled the lid off teen reps and opened up an extensive area for discussion.
The number of key movie texts we can use for this is extensive: The Breakfast Club, Elephant, Kidulthood, The Class, American Pie, Not Just Another Teen Movie, Clueless. Also worth considering the horror genre (Halloweeen, Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, etc. also quirky films like Donnie Darko) Please add more and say why.
TV texts to consider: the obvious ones - Hollyoaks, Skins, the soaps but what else? Please add to this list and again say why.
And then there is the online environment: again cataloguing this might be helpful.

Representation essay:
Many media texts feature real people and real places. Are such representations more realistic? Answer with reference to the group or place you have been studying.
Please focus on Teenagers and ensure that you are both specific in the media text examples you choose and detailed in your analysis of them (MIGRAIN) in addition please remember to bring theory and contemporary discussions into the essay (Hegemony, Moral Panics etc.)
At this stage I would like you to PREPARE for writing the essay by creating a plan in which ever form you feel is most useful: bullet points, spidergram, venn diagram, etc. Please add into this some of the detail but NOT the paragraphs.
We will spend some time next week on essay planning techniques before you write the essay.

i dont know if any of these films and programs will be useful but i looked up teen programs and films and this is what came up. i know they have teenagers in them and that they are all represented in different ways.
