Soap operas are low cost and repetitive. For example little Britain has come under recent criticism that it is repetitive comedy ‘ I want that one’ and that it’s very manipulative as the recent series connotes British views of American people, and the show proves these theories right.
Adorno and horkheimer state that media texts are loaded with a dominate ideology which works to justify and naturalise social differences (between rich people and poor people) in the real world. A TV show that uses this ideology very well is the longest running TV show in America and that is WWE Raw. Raw always constantly shows the battle between the poorer people (athletes) and the richer people (the McMan family). The show has survived by showing countless fights/arguments between the owners the McMans/general managers against the athletes. Undertaker vs Vickey Gurerro. The TV show has also survived by doing repetitive annual shows such as Wrestlemania, survivor series and the royal rumble. Whilst doing this the show continues to tour around America and more recently the UK.
The show also reinforces that media texts produce a mass, passive and obedient audience of consumers who are forced into accepting the dreams and the hopes offered. The most iconic person who represents this is John Cena. As he grew up as a kid playing wrestling with his brothers then he continued his passion and became a professional wrestler and became champion and lost it due to injury and he is set to return this Sunday for a championship match against Chris Jericho.

You have made a critical errror in genre identification in this mini essay which would severely impact on your potenial to gain marks. Little Britain is NOT a soap opera! Please redo this and focus on a soap opera (UK examples include Eastender, Coronation Street, Hollyoaks etc.)
