We're back and this time it is serious.
Well done to all of you for surviving the AS year and getting some good results this summer.
There is a bit of admin which needs to be done not least for those of your disappointed with your MEST 1 exam result deciding if you want to retake in January. Please have a think and let me know ASAP.
We have a lot to do this term and I am hoiping that we will make big inroads into MEST 3 - looking at 1) representations (a range of them we started with teenagers - there is more to do on this) and 2) impact of New/Digital Media - this will involve extensive research into Media 2.0 (it is an are in which you as teenagers and consumers of digital media are yourselves at the cutting edge)
In preparation for this: I will expecting you to use the BLOG regularly, do research and post it online including LINKS, ideally set up your own blog and keep and online diary of your own media consumption: start off with one day.
- WHAT DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY DO YOU USE IN ONE DAY?
- FOR HOW LONG?
- WHAT DO YOU DO ON THE COMPUTER?
- HOW MANY INDIVIDUALS DO YOU INTERACT WITH DIGITALLY?
- WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF YOUR DIGITAL INTERACTION?
- WHAT IS YOUR DIGITAL PLATFORM OF CHOICE?
WHY?
Analysing what you prefer and comparing it with the habits of other will provide an intersting background to our study.

A2 is here!!!
New terms to know (Media 2.0/web 2.0 etc.),more research to do,more media analysing plus focusing in representataions across different platforms,which is very broad plus some theoretical analysis (marxism theory).
plus..practical coursework which are divided into critical investigation and linked production piece..
Therefore, combining everything makes A2 a serious,unpredictable,mind draining and extra hard subject..but with so much exciting and new things to learn/discover/explore.
Indeed,media is very complicated but with so much to offer (students learn more,we have in depth knowledge and understanding and intensifies our awareness about whats happening arround the globe through media).
Hope we can survive A2 and at the end we could say to one another "well done"/"good thing we have taken media as one of our A levels"....God Bless and Good luck to each and evryone of us!!!

omg A2 has started. this year we have to work more harder and put more effort in2 our work so that we get the good grades we want. this is going to be a hard year but if we all work together im sure we will all get through this.
dont be shy to ask for help this year because im sure sir or any of us are willing to help you.
